Wednesday Night Live

Lent 2008

Wednesday Night Live is here and we hope you will find yourself and your family part of this growing, exciting ministry!

Every Wednesday night at 5:15pm, we offer a Lenten Soup Supper for a modest cost in Fellowship Hall. We have special emphasis for the week and enjoy special speakers each Wednesday night at 6:30pm in the Sanctuary for worship.

February 17 - 23: The Deed of Love
Take a gift you have made or bought to someone who has been kind to you, but for whom you rarely express your love...a pie, a plant, a small remembrance that has your love as wrapping.
Wednesday speaker - Rev. John Riley, UTMB Chaplain

February 24 - March 1: The Voice of Love
Call someone on the phone each day to say “You are loved and appreciated,” or “Can I help you?” or  “You’ve meant a lot to me” or “I’ve missed seeing you.”
Wednesday speaker - Bishop J. Woodrow Hearn

March 2 - 8: The Heart of Love
Make a list of people who have special needs for whom you will pray daily. Set a time each day to pray and, if possible, complete your prayer with a personal contact, a note, a call, or an email.
Wednesday performance - India Children's Choir

March 9 - 15: The Mind of Love
Use this week to pray for your own needs and look inward. Read and study the Bible, especially 1 John and the Gospel of John.
Wednesday speaker - Rabbi Jimmy Kessler

March 16 - 22: The Walk of Love
Celebrate the walk of God’s love by attending Holy Week services. Get outdoors and breathe the air of new life. Let your joy be full with life abundant in faith, hope and love.
Wesnesday worship - A Service of Taizé
Based upon the ecumenical monastic community in Taizé, France, this unhurried service provides an opportunity to catch our breath and slow down to hear God in the didst of our Lenten devotion.
