Senior Pastor

Bert joined the staff in June 2004 and comes to us from Holy Covenant UMC in the Houston Northwest District. He has served several churches in the Texas Conference including Elysian Fields and Crossroads UMC in the Longview District, Winona in the Tyler District, Eustace and Payne Springs in the Palestine District, Mt. Pleasant St. Andrews in the Texarkana District, Fairfield and Palestine in the Palestine District. Bert graduated from East Texas State University and Perkins School of Theology at SMU.

Rev. Charles Bagley

Associate Pastor

Charles is an ordained deacon with certification in Church Business Administration. He has a degree in accounting and has been serving his call to ministry in church administration since 1980. His major responsibility is financial and all areas of administration which include building, grounds and equipment. Charles also assists in Worship and other pastoral duties.

Renee Templer

Director of Children's Ministries

Leanne Green

Director of Special Ministries and Events

Leanne joined the staff of Moody Methodist Church in 1997 as part of the administrative team. Prior to her current position she served as Director of Adult Education for several years, during which time she was certified in Christian Education at Perkins School of Theology. She is currently the Director of Special Ministries and Events, coordinating church-wide events and special ministries such as the Wednesday Night Live program and worship service. She also acts as staff liaison with the Worship Committee and Mature Adults Committee.

Vivian Pinard

Grants Administrator

Vivian is the grants administrator of the Permanent Endowment Fund of Moody Memorial First United Methodist Church. She comes to this position from a varied background in missions and a variety of church work.

In 1969 to 1977 she enjoyed mission work in Caracas, Venezuela where she met and married Ray Pinard. They have lived in Galveston since 1978 where Ray serves as director of pastoral care for Edgewater Methodist Retirement Community.

In Galveston, Vivian has taught English as a Second Language at Galveston College, served as an associate in campus ministry at Texas A & M Galveston, worked as program coordinator at Moody Church, and served unofficially as the staff person coordinating church missions programs. Since 1992, she has been the administrator of the Permanent Endowment Fund where she has enjoyed the opportunity to help steward this great financial asset in service to God's mission at home and around the world.

Alice Williams

Executive Director for Libbie's Place, our adult day service ministry.

This outreach ministry provides adult day care for Galveston's older adults who have physical, social or cognitive limitations. Support services for their caregivers are also provided. Lowell Bagott
Youth Director

Lowell leads our youth grades 6th-12th in Sunday School at 9:30am and UMYF (United Methodist Youth Fellowship) every Sunday evening at 5:30pm in the Lighthouse. You can email Lowell at lbagott@moody.org.

Dr. Joanna Elliott
Organist

Joanna joined the Moody staff in November, 2006. She earned a Doctoral of Musical Arts in Organ Performance from University of Houston. Joanna accompanies two children’s choirs and the sanctuary choir. She also plays organ and piano for the 8:30am and 11am services. You can email Joanna at jelliott@moody.org.
