Salvation Army suppers

Every Tuesday afternoon from 4:30-6:30pm Sunday School classes and other groups serve year-round, all volunteers welcome. Contact Barbara Moore through the church office at (409)744-4526.

Moody Menders

Moody Menders is an outreach of Moody Methodist focused on home repairs in Galveston. These repairs focus on the safety and wellbeing of our Galveston neighbors who cannot physically and financially make these repairs on their own. Wheelchair ramps, replacing landings and roof leaks are just some examples of Moody Menders repairs. Mission Week: One week each spring

During the spring of each year, we dedicate a week to home repairs in the Galveston area. Home repairs range from minor to major and might involve building a wheelchair ramp, painting, yard work, and even children's projects. Volunteers are needed for construction, cleaning, painting, yard work, food prep, child care, and logistics. For more information, contact Cy Green at (409) 692-0171.

Santa's Toy Workshop

Workshop on Saturday morning starting in October to make wooden toys for needy children for Christmas: sawing, sanding, painting, gluing, sewing.... For more information, contact Kit Hensley through the church office at (409)744-4526.

Angel Tree

Share the joy of Christmas with children in need in the Galveston area. In coordination with Salvation Army and AIDS Coalition, you may adopt an angel for Christmas. The Angel Tree is located in the Atrium area the weekend before Thanksgiving. For more information, contact the church office at (409)744-4526.

Seaside Treasure Festival

A very fun and festive arts and crafts fair is held the Friday and Saturday before Thanksgiving. Proceeds from the event benefit local mission and outreach work. There are many volunteer opportunities for this event. If you are interested in helping out please fill out the volunteer form and deliver to the church office.

Society of St. Stephen

Charitable assistance available to those in need in our city. Contact Rev. Drew Weber.

Gleanings From The Harvest of Galveston

Volunteers are needed to assist with distribution of Angel Food Boxes for the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Program. Contact Mark Davis for more information.

Mission Teams

UMARMY

This is a mission trip for youth who have completed grades 9-12th. Check with Lowell Bagott, Director of Student Ministries, for camp details.

Big House

Worship

Lay Readers

Moody Methodist Church utilizes lay readers for our Sunday services and would appreciate your participation. Contact the church office at (409)744-4526 if you would be interested in being a Lay Reader.

Altar Guild

The Altar Guild is an important entity for our weekly worship services. Carole Gard is leading an effort to interest members of Moody Methodist Church to participate in this worthwhile project. Members of the church who are interested in helping to serve on a Guild are asked to contact Carole through the church office at (409)744-4526 or staff representative, Leanne Green at lgreen@moody.org. Volunteers for all worship services are also needed.

Youth and Children

Children's Church

Following the Children's Blessing in each of the 11am services, children in grades K-4 are invited to participate in this worship service designed especially for them. Communion is celebrated once a month with the Senior Pastor presiding.

Sunday School

Pre-K 3 through 4th grade are invited to Sunday School each week at 9:45am. Our classes currently use the Live B.I.G. curriculum from Cokesbury. Live B.I.G. helps children see, hear and live their Belief In God and learn about his BIG Love. Wednesday Night Kids

Children in grades K-4 are invited to participate in this dynamic Wednesday night program from 6-7pm. Music, crafts, stories and fun are designed to promote fellowship and inspire Christian living. Vacation Bible School

VBS takes place over 4 summer evenings (Monday through Thursday from 6:30 - 8:30 pm). There are a variety of volunteer opportunities in the following areas: Music, Crafts, Games, Snacks, Crew Leaders and Bible Storytellers. Volunteers are also needed prior to the event to organize supplies. Special Programs

From time to time there will be special events designed especially for children, usually on a Saturday or possibly an evening.
