+ To participate in our worship services
+ To teach an understanding of worship
+ To teach the children the basic elements of music
+ To teach the word of God through music using hymns
and songs of our faith

Moody Methodist Adult Handbell Choirs
Our handbell choirs offer the opportunity for individuals to worship God through music by the playing of handbells. Throughout the year our handbells provide music for all our worship services, participate in special worship services and present music at various organizations throughout the Galveston community. No audition is necessary, just a commitment to attend all rehearsals and participate in all performances opportunities. We have two adult handbell choirs at Moody. Mrs. Marjorie Rasche, Organist Emeritus directs the Moody Bells Ringers and Mrs. Tish Massey directs or Festival Bell Choir.

The Chancel Choir rehearses each Wednesday evening in the choir room suite from 7-8:30pm. The choir leads in music at the 11:00 AM Traditional worship service each Sunday morning. The choir welcomes all individuals who love to sing and are committed to attend rehearsals and Sunday morning worship.
Each rehearsal is focused on learning various styles of music, developing the singing voice, and teaching all the basic elements of choral singing. Child care is provided during rehearsals.
Throughout the year the choir has the opportunity to present special musical presentations. During the advent season the choir presents a major work with orchestra. A Tenebrae Service is also presented during the season of Lent. Individuals are able to share their talent at the annual Dinner Theater which raises funds for the choir’s mission work at the Salvation Army.
