Children's Ministries
Child Care for infants through Pre-K2
Child care is a key component in the life of the church - both on Sundays and throughout the week. Parents may relax and focus on their spiritual needs, knowing that our nursery department is staffed with paid and volunteer workers who are certified in Infant/Child CPR and Rescue Breathing. Our paid employees attend a number of training events throughout the year and are supervised by experienced child care professionals.

Sunday School for Pre-K3 through 4th Grade
Pre-K 3 through 4th grade are invited to Sunday School each week at 9:45am. Our classes currently use the Live B.I.G. curriculum from Cokesbury. Live B.I.G. helps children see, hear and live their Belief In God and learn about his BIG Love. Children's Worship
Following Children's Blessing in each of the 11am services, children in grades K-4 are invited to participate in this worship service designed especially for them. Communion is celebrated once a month with the children and served by one of our pastors.
Wiggle Worship, for children ages 3-5, takes place in the nursery.
Vacation Bible School
Please join us for Vacation Bible School! VBS takes place over 5 summer evenings (Sunday through Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00 pm) at Moody Methodist Church. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities in the following areas: Music, Crafts, Games, Snacks, Crew Leaders and Bible Storytellers. Volunteers are also needed prior to the event to organize craft supplies. If you want to get your name on the volunteer list, please e-mail msims@moody.org or call Margarita Sims at (409)744-4526. We love your children and want to give them the best possible experiences in learning and loving God.
Children's Music Program
We offer children's music programs for kids from 1st grade through 8th grade. You can find out about practice schedules and upcoming events in the Music Ministry Department.
Summer Music Camp takes place in August each year. Children entering Kindergarten through fifth grade participate in music activities and arts experiences for five days then perform during worship on the following Sunday.
Adult Volunteers
We need and encourage adults to volunteer in our Children's Ministries. Schedule to attend a Safe Sanctuary Training session and submit a Background Check form to be qualified to work with our children. For more information, contact Margarita Sims at msims@moody.org or by phone at (409)744-4526.
Kid's Kaleidoscope
This is a great opportunity to let us take care of and entertain your young ones while you have a leisurely night out knowing your children are in good hands. Let us help you relax and give your child a fun night too. Kaleidoscope is from September through April.
Participation Fee:
1 child is $25
2 children is $30
3 children is $35
4 children is $40
5 children is $45
Drop off time is 6:30pm. Please pick-up promptly at 10pm.
Please be prompt for pick-up, the church alarm is activated shortly after 10:30pm.
